Mosteiro* Schuerer (Kloster Schuerer) ist ein "branch", ein Zweig. Hat seinen
Sitz in Porto, mit angeschlossener Klostergalerie, Klostergarten und eben
Kloster selbst. Wenig entspricht dem herkömmlichen Bild einer
Brudergemeinschaft. Hohe Mauern, ein mächtiges Tor, darin ein großes Areal mit
Kapelle, Gefängnis, Kantine, Schiesstand, Sporthalle, Hallenschwimmbad,
Exerzierplatz. Alles alt und gebrechlich oder längst gebrochen. Das Gelände
gehört den bewaffneten Streitkräften von Portugal (Forças Armadas)
In einem Teilbereich davon arbeitet oder lebt Bruder Schürer (er schmunzelt
beim Begriff Bruder). Es ist ein Einmannbetrieb, sofern man die
Porzellanisolatoren nicht mitzählt....

Im Quartier 21 wird Kloster Schürer innerhalb der vorgegebenen 3 Tage seine
Arbeit fortsetzen: Ausstellungen, Dienstleistungen, Mahlzeiten, Alltag,
Förderkojen, Vorträge, Kirschen, .....

Mosteiro Schuerer (Monastery Schuerer) is a branch". Situated in Porto ,with
the connected Monastery Gallery and the Monastery Garden and of course the
monastery itself. Only a few things correspond to the conventional picture of a
brotherhood. High walls, a powerfull gate, inside a big areal with chapell,
prison, cantine, rifle range, sportcenter, swimming-hall, drill-ground. All
weak and shaky, just infirm. The area is in the property of the Forças Armadas,
meanwhile some artists have entered the space, most of them are actors and
dancers. In some hours there is a lot of movement, in other hours nobody moves
beside the moon and Fusco, the dog...
In one little part there is the Monastery. Brother Daniel (he smiles amusedly
when I call him brother Daniel)) works here and his comprehension of working
includes a lot. It´s a one-man company, if you neglect the porcelain isolators.

In the Museumquartier 21 of Vienna he will continue during the three days his
work, 24 hours per day: Exhibitons, services, meels, lectures, everyday life,
support spaces, cheeries.... we wellcome, really.
